Some of our modern-day essentials were greatly improved by the innovations of many pioneers on the list. Ever heard of Benjamin Banneker (pictured above), Lewis Latimer, or Frederick McKinley Jones? Frederick McKinley Jones made huge footprints in history when he designed the self-start gas engine and the movie projector. Wow!
