Love it.  Science, we want you as our Valentine too!

Dear Science,

I’d ask you to be my Valentine, but I know that I don’t even have to ask. You’re always there for me, and I love you for your creativity, consistency, and beauty. I am especially thankful for what you have given me in the past eight months: A chance to live a long and healthy life after I was diagnosed with a very rare cancer, uterine leiomyosarcoma, or ULMS.

Thanks to you, I get to add 1 to someone’s n. And for ULMS, n+1 is a big deal.

I’m going to put on my sexiest goggles, one of my shirts with a hole above the lower hem from rubbing up against the lab counter, and that old lab coat that was too big for me so I had to roll up the sleeves three times to avoid dipping them in formaldehyde. Just for you. And then we can spend the night looking over my old TEM photos of protists…just like the good old days.
